Health : FOOD SAFETY: EXPIRY DATES AND BEST BEFORE DATES

People often confuse ‘Expiry’ dates and ‘Best before’ dates. Yes they are both found on consumables, but they mean two different things.
Expiration dates refer to the last day a product is safe for consumption. In other words, food should not be consumed after the expiry date. On the other hand, Best Before dates guarantee freshness, it tells a consumer how long that food will keep its freshness, flavour and nutritional value. Best before dates are mostly found on foods that will only stay fresh for about 90 days or less. SOME foods can still be consumed after their best before date has elapsed. ------ Jela O.C
